Batter (2)

Dosa Batter

  • While prepareing your batter for dosa , add some cooked rice to it so that you will have a soft dosa.
Idly Batter

This is my self experience, its my first day of married life with my husband, no one else with me to guide how to manage with kitchen. I have prepared idlies for the first time and they were really very strong, as its the first time my husband was unable to tell me that they were very worse and had them just like that without telling me anything and when the time come for my turn to have those idlies i realised that they were worse , by my experience i came to know about this tip.

  • If your idlies are not soft then keep your batter outside(not in the refrigerator) by mixing enough salt, cover with a lid over it for whole night without disturbing it. Next day morning prepare your idly asusual, you will find your idlies very soft.

Throat Infection (3)

Sometimes we will suffer with severe throat infection that we cannot swallow anything even saliva too and not able to talk to anyone then try these tips

  • In hot water add salt, turmeric powder and gargle. you can take hot water upto the hotness you can bear.
  • You can have Milk with black pepper(miriyalu), turmeric powder.
  • 4-black peeper,1/2 cinamon stick,1/2 inch ginger slightly smashed,2-cloves , 1/2 spn ajwain in 1/2cups of boiling water, let it boil till the water becomes red color and let it warm. Now gargle with this water which gives a very fast relief.

Burps / Tenpulu (7)

For burps Ajwain(vaamu/oam) is the best medicine......
  • Take some ajwain and salt into your left arm and smash it with your right hand thumb hardly and chew it for some time dont just swallow the whole thing at a time.
  • Drink butter milk with salt.
  • Lemon juice will also helps for burps mix 1tsp lemon juice, 1/2 tsp baking soda with 1cup of cool water.
  •  Ginger helps a lot take Ginger tea.
  • Take papaya as remedy  for burps.
  • Caraway seeds helps for digestive problems.
  • Mix equal amounts of fennel seeds, celery seeds and cumin seeds eat and chew well dont just swallo the whole thing keep chewing until you are done.

    Cramps / Timmerlu (3)

    Many of us have experienced these cramps when we sit or stand in same position for a long time

    • just sprinkle some water and slightly massage
    • regularly try to do simple exercise jst holding your hands , twisting them from left to right and right to left , turn around , You can also do the same for your foot also.
    • Drink Glucose water by adding a pinch of salt  to it.

      Cough (2)

      • Take a sharp edged jaggery and heat it on candle , collect the droplets into a small bowl and mix it with 2spoons of water take it . For children 5drops and for adults 20-25drops in 2spoons of water. This is called as "Bellam Kashayam" , tip from my granny.
      • For cold related cough you can use gallnut(karakkaya), place a peel of the nut in your cheek , its alittle bitter in taste , it wont dissolve but the saliva you take helps to cure cold related cough. Gallnut has some other additional beneficials like flatulence(passing gas), constipation, piles, cough and colds.

        For Cold / Jalubu (2)

        • Vaporizing : In boiled water mix vicks/Amrutanjan/ZanduBalm and smell the vapour slowly and deeply for sometime , upto what extent you can bare it , just smell like that dont worry that your nose starts watering let it be , after somtime your nostrils will be free and you can have a deep sleep.
        • One more to relief your blocked nostril , take a black pepper and pin it to a safety pin and heat it on stove or on a candle and smell it immediately , your nostrils will be cleared for sure.

        Okra / Lady'sFinger (2)

        • When you are making okra dishes add a little tamarind paste or 1 spoon curd to the frying oil, all the stickiness will go away quickly.

        • Always try to add salt just 2minutes before your dish is going to complete.

        To peel Garlic cloves (2)

        Sometimes v need to peel a lot of garlic cloves to add in our pickles then try this tip ......

        • Add a little oil to your garlic cloves and keep them in sunlight for 15minutes and try to smash them with your arms , automatically their skin will be seperated ...... this tip was an old one from my granny ..........

        • I will tell you one more
        Keep your Garlic cloves in Microwave for 15 seconds, you can see the skin right away.........

        Soft Roti Tip (2)

        • While preparing dough to roti's add butter milk/curd for soft roti's ......

        • Add 1/4 tsp of oil to ur dough at the end , so that ur dough wont dry even if u take time to prepare your chapathi's or Puri's or whatever the roti u prepare

        u can make fluffy rotis like this..

        Pickles (1)

        • pickles eppudu fresh ga colour change avvakunda inka , mukka mettaga avvakunda undali antey pingani jaadi (porcelain vessels) lo petti paina cotton cloth vesi tag cheyyali , bt ippudu manaki avi storage problem kabatti ila chesi chudandi, air-tight containers lo petti fridge lo store cheyandi enni days ayina freshness thaggadhu.

        Cooking (1)

        • If there is more salt in gravy curries, u can add milk, curd or cream.
        you can add these even if the gravy has become too spicy.
